Best Poster of 2006 - regardless of anything that has been said. I Think that overall [ Although hard to judge from all, all, all of the posters and movies ]
My two overall favourites go too STAY ALIVE, and R.V.
Stay Alive, was a great addition to the horror genre [ without the big boost in the media ] and showed exactly what the movie was about in the poster.
And not just because i liked the movie, but R.V had alot of great posters [ including a great teaser ] and it's overall performance was over the top !!!
Worst Movie Poster of 2006 - DATE MOVIE by a long shot. I thought it was a cheezy rip off Scary Movie when i saw it, and after seeing the movie they really went overboard.
This poster showed no respondence to the public to saying what this movie was really about, what it's actual purpose was
Best Teaser Poster of 2006 - Again R.V is in my top favourite's for taking the gold in this category, but got taken away from the glory by LADY IN THE WATER. Have to say it was a great film and it's poster really showed it's meaning after seeing the movie.
But still both had their great ways of making you [ Me ] wanna see it ! LADY IN THE WATER's poster really gave the feeling of a great film though, with the title and M. Night Shyamalan's name at the top of the poster it was an instant " I Wanna See" film.
Worst Teaser Poster of 2006 - APOCALYPTO, not really much too say except that it was not even a teaser at all. All it shows is a guy walking away from acouple of buildings. What is that suppsoed to mean ? I mean where does that come into the title or movie. This person [ Thing ], coming out of the shadows looks like an alien, and it turns out to be a person.
Funniest Poster of 2006 -
ACCEPTED, Just Looking at it is like thining about a rip of from NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE
gimme a break guys, this certainly pulled it's position for what it's all about, comedy.
Bravest Poster of 2006 - Definately DREAMGIRLS, they really must of thought that the overall look of the poster must have been enough instead of having it's cast's faces or names put on the poster.
Still though it pulled of, cause it's a great movie and the poster looks great too. It shows exactly what it's all about, and the bravery of this shows that any poster if it looks good can have sucess without trying to make it's cast known and shown !!
Creepiest Poster of 2006 - Way too many to choose from, there were many, many posters that were really set out so that it's audience would begin to crawl under their desks [ Although several are fakes and let downs, as the didn't even stand up to the large stakes that their poster gave them, not giving out any names although many are obvious ]
But if to choose one then the award goes to THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE - THE BEGINNING, simply because it shows what it's about, gore and blood, and nothing more, this poster makes people shiver at it's sight and keeps you in the thought of it's gonna scare you to near death.
WAY TOO GUYS, great poster and GREAT MOVIE. a 10 / 10 overall.
Best Character Set Poster of 2006 - HAPPY FEET wins this, didn't like the movie, but all the character poster makes all the kids happy and excited about wanting to see it.
Although OVER THE HEDGE did it's job here too, the movie was still a major let down, and the moster still didn't show as much fun, as HAPPY FEET had it's characters showing their moves !
Best Funny Tag Line of 2006 - TALLADEGA NIGHTS - THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY, what a poster, Will Ferrell don't get no better, great poster, makes a real funny look to the movie, and the overall presentation shows Will always looking serious in each poster, but everyone knows that he always can't get his lines right when saying or doing anything
Best Serious Tag Line of 2006 - Nothing more to say then FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS, wins by a lonnnnnggg shot...
Not So Serious Award of 2006 - Just one of these from me to rap this review over and it's
WHAT A TITLE FOR A MOVIE - THANK YOU FOR SMOKING, what the hell is going on with the world, we repeat thing's in movies and redo horror's and chage the names of movies and then redo them in a slight way, all these i can deal with, but not this title, now we have gone overboard.
Anyway that pretty much sums it all up.
Happy for any comments, or questions.
Remember...
There isn't a MOVIE i haven't reviewed or SEEN.....
